The SAASTA Connect program runs at Years 8 and 9 and encourages attendance at school as well as positive participation in cultural and sporting activities with links to the SAASTA Program and its privileges. The aim of the program is to encourage students to grow as young leaders both mentally and physically: making smart choices in life through guided activities. The unique aspect of the program is the delivery of cultural identity and ways the students can express who they are and where they come from as well as elements of traditional language.
Students are rewarded for their success with an invitation to participate in state-wide events to undertake sporting and cultural activities. The culmination at the end of each semester is a cultural camp rewarding students who achieve their behavioural and academic goals and outlined student expectations.
